Before our children were born, and when my wife Jana was pregnant, I chatted with a friend, who was already experienced father at that time. We talked about what awaits me. He described to me how with the moment of birth, everything changes, rearranging the values and priorities in life. Of course, that was what I expected. Then a friend told me how he used to wake up suddenly in the middle of the night feeling the urge to go and listen whether his child breathes. Just like that, without any particular reason to worry. I considered it foolish at that moment and I laughed.
Well - my wife gave birth to our first child, all went well and I became a happy father. But already the first night I woke up several times and had to go to listen whether our baby is breathing. The thought simply woke me up. Feel free to laugh at me :o) My wife and I consumed no drugs, we rarely enjoyed very little alcohol (whence are the wild times at the college! :-)) Having the informaton that the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is very little due to our healthy life style did not really calm my mind. I was afraid. So we borrowed the breathing monitor right at the hospital. Of course, first I checked whether it works properly and even brought it to start an alarm. Only then I could sleep better. Well, unless our little one asked for our attention in another way :o)

Five years ago we became parents to a baby girl, and two and half years later the dreamed boy. As a paramedic I knew about all the health risks for young children, and that's why I did not hesitate to purchase the Babysense II breathing monitor for both of our children. I could sleep at peace knowing that their breath and therefore lives was guarded at night by someone or something way more alert than I used to be at that time...
It proofed several time that the Babysense monitor works, and fortunately, it was always only a false alarm,…
