Our mission

• We help to equip Czech hospitals - their neonatal, children and ICU departments - with breathing monitors, so that each newborn and infant can be watched by a breathing monitor.
• We establish lending sites at these hospital departments which allows parents to rent the breathing monitor and continue using it for their child at home when leaving the hospital.
• We spread awareness of the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) among the Czech public, about the risks, the factors that contribute to higher risk and the possibilities of reducing them.

How we fulfill our mission

Collecting donations for breathing monitors in hospitals
Our main activity lays in initialization and administration of the donation proces between the donor and the hospital. We make first contact with companies, either at national or regional scale, and together we arrange a single contribution or a long-term sponsorship strategy. Often, these are companies that are regionally close to the hospital, or some members of the company are connected to particular hospital through their personal story of their own parenthood and experience with SIDS. Representatives of the donor or sponsor are always invited to the event of the final handover of donated monitor to the hospital staff.
The entire process is formally quite demanding, including drafting contracts, transfer protocols, arragning presence of the press, publishing a press release, registering the donated monitors, etc. All this is taken care of by the Chief Coordinator.


Lending Sites

Thanks to the presence of breathing monitors in hospitals, mothers and fathers of newborn babies experience the feeling of peaceful sleep, knowing that their baby is being watched, thus safe. In order to allow them to sleep peacefuly at home as well, we help to establish and operate lending sites at hospitals (or in the nearest pharmacy). Breathing monitors can be rented for as long as necessary to protect the baby from the risks of SIDS.

Operation of these lending sites is administratively quite demanding, therefore we co-operate with hospital staff and regional coordinators.

Currently, there are 38 lending sites in Moravia region and 39 lending sites in Bohemia region.
